One of my favorite songs. It was the theme song to a very popular TV show here.
I discovered John Lennon...I mean, really discovered who he was and what his music was about...when I was in my late teens. My brother Mark told me about how he listened to "Dream Number 9" over and over again after my dad died, and so I listened to it myself...and that song was my introduction to a great artist and musician, and a great human being.
Though I went on to listen to much more, "Dream Number 9" holds a special place in my heart. It is a song that puts a lump in my throat and a smile on my face at the same time. I haven't listened to it in a while, but thanks to this lovely entry on your blog, I'm sure it will make it onto my "Play" list quite soon.
