Cranshaws Church

A small parish church in an idyllic setting, in the Scottish Borders. Oddly, for such a simple building , it boasts a gargoyle, supporting a sundial.

Such a beautiful church with so much character Mags. I enlarged the picture and spent so much time looking at all the details. All those daffodils, beautiful. I love the way the graveyard is right next to the church, so much more personal than large cemeteries. Now I'm off to visit the cemetery to decorate my parents' grave today , Memorial Day in U.S. was often referred to as Decoration Day.

Thanks for visiting, Vicki. I saw the photo you took at Littleton Cemetery on Memorial Day.

I love how those daffodils are just minding their own business, looking beautiful and doing their thing as history marches on. After visiting Charleston, we talked about how a 300-year-old city is "old" to us here in the states. Really, though, I don't think we really have a clue what "old" really is!

Beautiful. Period.
