See Scotland through my camera lens

What a beautiful day it was in Melrose! Visited the abbey last year sometime - interesting. Before that I hadn't been since I was a child.
What a great photo Mags! I love the way you can see through the arches in the abbey.
How amazing. I keep finding that my eyes are drawn to the bar tracery that has somehow survived the centuries. It looks so delicate and fragile compared to the rest of the structure. I love the subtle hue of the place...such a delicate pink.
I sat in on some of the lectures of Adam's art history class this semester, especially when they were learning about Gothic architecture, which fascinates both of us. Its a shame that this structure didn't survive completely intact, and yet the fact that it didn't allows us to really see inside of it, to see how the architecture worked.
We were so interested in this abbey after seeing your picture that we Googled it...oh, the history connected to it and around it. So much took place here! I suppose anything this old is bound to be soaked in history!
Ah, well...we have added yet another destination to our list of places to visit!
