Peebles

Peebles, in the Scottish Borders, takes its name from the Celtic word, pebyll, meaning tent or rough shelter. It's a bit more sophisticated now, but you can still pitch your tent at one of the campsites in the area.

Now THAT is a scene I'd love to sit and sketch. Just gorgeous. When I enlarge this picture, I can see that there's a store at the top of the roadway...Adam and I just had fun talking about what it could be. A tea shop, I said...then he said a pub...then I said a sewing store...then he said a tool shop...*heehee*

What a serene-looking town. I love how the church seems to keep watch over everything else. When we read that we could camp here, we almost booked our plane tickets! =^..^=

It's the Bridge Inn - a pub!

A pub! Score for Adam! *heehee* Well, it is now on our "to-see" list. Somehow, knowing its a pub makes it that much more enticing! :) Oh, to go in the fall...on a crisp day after a long walkabout...what a fine daydream!

Also known as The Trust by the locals. It has a lovely new beer terrace where you can sit and enjoy a beer overlooking the Tweed.
